Younger than Springtime

Allure magazine tells its readers that painted nails and a ring make ones hands look younger. They forgot to mention it, so I'll add this; really short, freshly broken nails and no fewer than three paper cuts are very youthening, too.

Some days I suspect I'll die before I ever look like an "After" picture.

My hands look very youthful indeed when I've just applied nail polish. That's because I'm no better with nail polish than the average five-year-old.

I must have the oldest looking hands in history then, because my nails are short and unpainted so that I can play outside in the garden. There's just something about scrubbing potting soil out from under your nails that ruins the mani.

So purple and pink paint all over ones fingers and under nails must make me about 4? :D

Advice in those magazines is always so amusing.

My favorite line from the commencement speech that became the song "Sunscreen" is:
"Do not read beauty magazines. They will only make you feel ugly."

Of course, I still read them, but I think that's a true sentiment. :)

Ah, nothing takes us back to the June Cleaver era quite like "beauty" magazines! Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some housework to do. I just have to find my pearls and pumps ...
